The NASUWT Annual Conference 2025, held in Liverpool from April 18th to 21st, focused on critical issues facing teachers and the education sector. Key discussions revolved around securing a fully funded, real-terms pay increase for teachers in 2025/26, with delegates voting to ballot for industrial action if their demands are not met. The conference also addressed the impact of austerity on public services and the need for increased investment in education.
Cheshire East brought an amendment to the conference for the NASUWT to conduct a national campaign to campaign for TLR payments for the many primary school teachers' that are leading subject areas in their schools.

Furthermore, concerns were raised about the negative influence of social media personalities on student behavior, particularly the rise of misogyny and far-right narratives. The union emphasized the importance of safeguarding children online and equipping teachers to challenge harmful ideologies. The conference served as the union's main decision-making body, shaping policies to improve teachers' working lives and the future of education.
We were delighted to see that our workplace representative from Ruskin was recognised with a national award as the recruiter of the year.
