ECT teachers are free in their qualifying year (until December). Year 1 is then £1 for a full year. Year 2 has a 2/3 reduction in the subscription fee, Year 3 has a 1/3 reduction on the subscription fee and from the 4th year the normal subscription fee applies.

Getting support
If an issue has arisen at your place of work and you think that there is a potential impact on whether you will keep your job or whether the employer is breaking the terms of your contract, then you should contact the national advice line immediately.

If you have are in financial difficulties because of illness, bereavement, accident, or the loss of employment then the union might be able to help with its benevolent fund.
Any member wishing to access the NASUWT Benevolent Fund should email either the Cheshire East Secretary or National/Regional Centre. Alternatively, you can email the Legal and Casework Team directly.
If there is an matter (positive or negative) in your school that is of a more general nature and you want to make the Cheshire East Secretary aware, so that he can either advise you, or reach out to the school, or pick it up in the regular meetings that we have with either Cheshire East council or the school/MAT leadership then you should contact on the local team.
